چکیده
Abstract Background and Aims Diabetic nephropathy is the leading cause of chronic kidney disease in modern world. Timely diagnosis paramount importance, especially after recent introduction novel therapies. The presence an already altered renal haemodynamic profile was investigated all patients referred with suspected diabetic nephropathy, upon their initial presentation to our department. Method During past seven years, from January 2015 December 2022, 578 were Renal Department for ultrasound assessment. Additionally standard assessment, they underwent triplex examination. (DN) diagnosed 149 patients. A group estimated GFR> 60 ml/min, without randomly selected same pull comparison reasons (control group). haemodynamics including arteries, aorta intrarenal resistive indexes (RI) both kidneys, glomerular filtration rate (CKDEPI) 24h albuminuria, evaluated Results mean age 72.5 ±10.4 vs 65.8 ±6.9 DN control respectively. length comparable groups, diameter left 10.61 ±1.28 vs. 10.59 ±1.44 cm right 10.53 ±1.38 9.85 ±2.89 GFR significantly lower group, 42.1±23.6 82.7 ±11.3 ml/min (p<0.05). Both arteries presented higher velocity values 53.4 ±22.2 21.7 ±28.9 cm/sec (p<0.0001) 52.4 ±23.9 24.8 ±32.3 (p<0.0001), artery. showed RI above upper normal limit 0.70, being at time compared 0.73 ±0.06 0.61 ±0.17 0.72 0.59 ±0.20 Conclusion increased artery has not been described earlier best knowledge. It represents a new finding that mainly attributed arteriopathy. Evaluation using ultrasound, non – invasive, readily available, inexpensive When performed patient presentation, constitutes invaluable tool, timely assisting treatment

Renal transplantation in diabetic nephropathy.
Forty diabetics who had developed end-stage renal failure from diabetic nephropathy and underwent renal transplantation have been followed up from one to six years. After one and two years 63% and 42% survived (45% and 33% respectively with functioning kidneys). Older patients, those with coronary and peripheral vascular disease, and those with severe neuropathy are prone to higher postoperativ...
متن کاملProgression of renal failure in diabetic nephropathy.
The onset of renal damage in diabetes mellitus may be influenced by several factors which largely result from genetic predisposition, hereditary factors and the early appearance of microalbuminuria and/or systemic hypertension. Most of these factors are also implicated in the progression of nephropathy from microalbuminuria to overt proteinuria and to end-stage renal failure (ESRF). Over the la...
متن کاملIsotopic renal study within diabetic nephropathy
Material and methods: 125 patients (IDDM:10, NIDM:115), including 62 men, ages 18-84 years, were studied. In all cases GF (Cr 51 EDTA), ERPF (I-hippuran), kidney split function (obtained from the mTc-MAG3 renogram) and basal serum creatinine (SC) were evaluated at the beginning of the study and patients were clinically followed up for 5 years by SC. Ultrasound and/or intravenous digital angiogr...
متن کاملRosmarinic Acid Ameliorates Diabetic Nephropathy in Uninephrectomized Diabetic Rats
Objective(s) Oxidative stress plays an important role in diabetic nephropathy pathogenesis. Rosmarinic acid, a plant phenolic compound, was first used as an antioxidant agent for inhibition of diabetic nephropathy. Material and Methods Forty male rats were uninephrectomized from the left flank. The rats were divided in four groups randomly; group one as control, group two diabetic untreatment...
متن کاملRisk Factors for Diabetic Nephropathy in Diabetic Patients
Aims: Diabetic nephropathy is one of the consequences of type 1 and type 2 diabetes and one of the main causes of End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) as well as an important risk factor for cardiovascular morbidity and death. The aim of this study was to identify the risk factors for diabetic nephropathy in diabetic patients. Instruments & Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, 121 pat...
